Customer Story

8-hour Orientation Tour for AusssieOS clients Renaud & Virginie from Brussels

Bonjour Perth

We met at the Ritz Hotel and had exactly seven hours to showcase the best of Perth to a Belgian couple considering relocating here in 2024 with their three teenage sons. Perth was at its finest, offering a typically sunny day that set the perfect stage for our tour.

On a tight schedule, we began by visiting two beautiful homes in Wembley and West Leederville. The couple's initial impressions were mixed: they found the ceiling too low in the first house and the pool too small in the second.

We took a short break at the Herdsman in Churchlands, where they enjoyed some refreshing drinks and were particularly impressed by the fresh fruit selection. Our next stop was the local public high school, where the welcoming administration team explained the enrolment process, noting that living within the catchment area is a requirement. This new information led us to reconsider the earlier concerns about pool size and ceiling height.

The tour continued with visits to the local hockey and basketball clubs, giving the family a glimpse of Perth’s vibrant outdoor lifestyle. A leisurely lunch at City Beach further highlighted the city's appeal. We then made our way to the University of Western Australia, beautifully situated on the Swan River, to explore engineering degree options for one of their sons. We even FaceTimed their sons while walking around the campus—it was still breakfast time in Brussels!

With an hour remaining, we visited the scouting club and the Royal Perth Yacht Club, both conveniently located nearby. The thirty-minute drive back to the Ritz was filled with a lively discussion about the pros and cons of life in Perth, touching on work-life balance and the city's enviable weather. As we said our goodbyes, the father turned to me and asked, "So, we can live in a place that looks like a holiday destination without it being a holiday?"

“Yes, you absolutely can!” I replied.
